Lived in Vegas four years. Sampled many, many restaurants, both off-strip and on, and apparently it's you who doesn't know very much about the restaurant scene there. There were a few decent Asian restaurants in the Spring Valley area that obviously aren't part of the casino network, though they were almost all in tacky suburban strip malls. Some great pizza in a few places, and two (count 'em, two) decent Mexican restaurants. I've had much better Asian cuisine in several other cities, for a lower cost.
Also, valet service is hardly something that is unique to Vegas. Please. Go to any upscale restaurant in any city in any region, and there will be valet service. Good grief.
I have stayed at a good percentage of the major hotels in the USA. And in London. I don't believe I have every come across hotels of the size of the strip places that provided free valet parking. We are not talking here about restaurants in urban neighborhoods that provide the essential valet. We are talking about major hotel/restaurant casinos that do. As I remember the hotels in NY, Paris and London were 40 to 60 bucks a day for valet. You guys know something different?

I lived in Vegas from 2003 to 2007. Where, exactly, were these casinos that offered "free" valet service? I know some places (not just casinos, and not just in Vegas) will validate a valet ticket, but that certainly wasn't the rule of thumb when I lived there. And 2007 wasn't that long ago.

All major strip hotels offer free valet. Even downtown where public parking is not free. And that was absolutely true in 2007 and 1997. I used it last month at the Paris Las Vegas and at the Wynn.

The only cost is the tip. Generally $2 to $5.
Sorry, that flys against my experience. I'll have to call some of my old friends back there (many of whom work on the strip) and ask them about this.
Either way, for me personally, whether or not I get free valet service... having to go to some massive behemoth of a casino in a cluster-effed area like the strip just to experience fine dining pretty much ruins the whole experience. It's great for the tourists though.

Well you have convinced me you never lived in Las Vegas. You could not have missed that one and it was certainly here in those years. In fact it has always been true in the roughly 40 years I have dealt with Las Vegas.
We locals enjoy it a couple of times a year. I would not want to do it weekly but every once in a while is OK. And it is an exciting interesting place.
And to the poor fellow who could not find good Mexican in Las Vegas...how sad...the town is 40% Hispanic and loaded with good Mexican of all sorts. Some of the best greasy spoons in the world if you know where to look.

I don't need to "prove" that I lived in that miserable, hot, dusty, plastic neon toilet for four years, stranger. I did my time there, and am ecstatic to be gone. Don't you worry, ace. I won't be returning.
Now go enjoy some overpriced meals in your noisy, crowded neon palaces with your free valet service, or perhaps some greasy, overcooked rolled tacos from Roberto's.... and don't concern yourself with the rest of us who are so missing out on all that wonderful "culture".

Everyone has different taste....because someone doesn't have the same interest in you there opinion is wrong and that proves they've never lived in Vegas because they don't like the same crap you do? Very ignorant

I would be similarly suspicious of one who lived in DC and claimed not to know the White House and Washington Monument were located there.
I suppose it could be true...but very hard to believe.
But then again he knows about Robertos...so perhaps merely strip averse to a very high degree.
And thanks. The pointless attacks tend to demonstrate that you feel you have lost the argument. .
