Are there any Southern cities with notable Italian populations? (America, cons, Florida)

I've noticed that outside of the Northern Cities, Italians don't tend to spread out across the country. I've heard of Italian populations in the Hampton Roads, New Orleans, and that's it. I feel like Italians for the most part avoided the South. Anybody know otherwise?

There is a significant Italian prescence in Florida and New Orleans. The parish where I grew up in new Orleans area has a significant Italian (Sicilian) culture and heritage....I ended up marrying an Italian American descendant.

Yeah, NOLA still has em. They haven't gone anywhere since the storm that's for sure.

Seems there's quite a few Italians in Beaumont, Texas.

I'm sure you have some in the transplant heavy areas of the South as well.

Birmingham has a strong Italian community, chiefly because of its industrial past. The identity has faded somewhat over the past generation, but it's still there nonetheless.

Florida is the Northeast's playground. Let's not count that one. The peninsular region is hardly Southern by any means culturally.

Hardly anything is southern anymore.

Miami. Lots of Italian New Yorkers and Italian vacationers.

True, but few consider the peninsula of florida to have ever been Southern.
