The problem is this combines three different food styles.
Thai goes to Seattle, Indian goes to NYC (with SF a close second), and Chinese goes to SF (with NYC a close second).
For Thai, while Seattle is the best of the three, both SF and NYC aren't too far behind.
For Indian and Chinese, SF and NYC are neck-and-neck, while Seattle is well behind (especially for Chinese - NYC and SF are two of the best places for Chinese food on the planet outside of China. Seattle isn't even close).

I should have added Teriyaki to the mix.... But your post makes a lot of sense, I use to live in the Seattle area and I had the best Pad Thai that I've ever tasted on several occasions at several different restaurants.
I love most Chinese food dishes and I can't resist some good chicken biryani.... All this talk about Asian food has gotten me hungry.

Yeah, you're talking about *the* heavy hitters for Chinese food in the country with NYC and SF, and Seattle just can't compete there. NYC and SF are also two of the very best for Indian - Seattle has good Indian food but it's not on that level.
Now, Seattle does have fantastic Thai food - arguably the best in the country - but it's too far behind in the other two categories to come out ahead in this combined competition.
