Independence LA. It’s in the bayou so the food and culture would be unique and close enough to New Orleans for a get a way.
Devils Lake ND or Angel Fire NM
Tough one, but I guess I'd pick Angel Fire. Although I like how Devils Lake is on an Amtrak route, I think I'd prefer the weather of northern New Mexico.
Uniondale NY - it has Nassau Coliseum and Hofstra University.
Santa Barbara CA or Saint James NY???
Santa Barbara... Better weather, better beach/coast access, and it's a large enough place to be self-sustaining without having to travel to the LA metro often. St. James seems like a decent place but I have zero desire to live in Suffolk County.

Delaware, OH or Washington, PA?
I’ll go Washington PA much prefer it’s natural setting and overall location.
Ft. Wayne. It's bigger and growing. Peoria's population is declining. Reno or Boise?
Probably Reno, since to me that area seems like it'd have slightly more things to do. And I like it's proximity to the town of Truckee, and Lake Tahoe. Don't get me wrong, I do bet Boise wouldn't be bad to live in. At the end of the day, I think I'd prefer a slightly milder winter. Though I remember reading there is more snow in say Reno, vs. Las Vegas.
Spokane, WA, or Billings, MT?
