Leavenworth, Kan., or Leavenworth, Wash.?
Leavenworth, WA, faux Bavarian charm and beautiful mountains. Not too far from Seattle.

Bend, OR or Cannon Beach, OR?

Bend. A lot more going on.

Vancouver... mainly because it's adjacent to Portland whereas Ogden is 40 minutes from SLC. Both seem like nice places though.

Moscow, ID or Helena, MT?

I could go home to Helena. Kids were born there. Plenty of friends around. I could likely get a job at my old company again. Hubby would love a triumphant return to his old Helena office. He's now higher on the pecking chart than his old boss who made his life miserable and the reason we left.

Sommerville, OH or Wintersville, OH?

Somerville, OH since I'm from Beavercreek and I like SW ohio.

Bloomington, IN vs. Spokane, WA

Tough choice for many reasons, but I'll go with Bloomington since it's less isolated (at least as far as my standards go). I would love the higher snow averages in Spokane though...

Indianapolis, IN or Atlanta, GA?

Atlanta. Indy may be underrated, but Atlanta's more urbane, and it has better mass transit.

Portsmouth, N.H., or Ellicott City, Md.?

Ellicott City, MD (as long as I can live near work and not have to deal with DC traffic). Much better weather and access to two large cities. Also looks like there's some nice parks in the area. Probably a lot of good hiking trails

Sacramento, CA vs. Madison, WI

I'll have to go with Madison here. It may not be as big, but it has a more traditional four-season climate that I like, a young population that appeals to me, a lower cost of living, a lake right in town (Sacramento is sort of in a scenic void in that part of CA), It certainly has that "next Austin" potential, making it a good place to invest in real estate. For bigger city fun, business trips, and pro sports/culture, Milwaukee's less than 90 minutes away (even if rush hour), and for a major international airport and megacity exploration, Chicago is 2.5 hours. It's still better than taking weekends in San Francisco, especially in the summer.

Ewing, VA or Tiptonville, TN?

Edit: Tiptonville, it's closer to a bigger metro, Memphis. Both look nice. ^

Sacramento. Madison is beautiful during the summer, but winter is just too long in Wisconsin. Sacramento's honestly not that bad, and not as expensive as coastal parts of the state while still having a mild enough climate that palm trees can grow.

Chokoloskee, Florida or Douglas, Arizona?
