Actually, that photo proves New York has three skylines, not two! Downtown Brooklyn's buildings aren't nearly as tall as those in Manhattan, but it's a prominent skyline all the same.

NYC's downtown (and midtown) look way better than Chicago's downtown.

I would say since NYC has almost six thousand highrises to chicagos one thousand. It is not really comparable. Toronto actually has more highrises than chicago. Those two should be compared. NYC is in a class by itself......

I'd say Chicago has a better looking downtown/skyline. Yes New York is bigger, but its also grittier and a lot more dirty.
Plus Chicago's skyline is unique, with many different styles of architecture. Chicago is pretty much world famous for its architecture, which is where the skyscraper was invented btw
