Lived in ATL, and San Diego (not LA)...hands down ATL seemed friendlier than the WC, and more helpful

Most people will probably say ATL.

Lived in both. People in Atlanta are friendlier in general. People in Los Angeles are friendly, but a lot more passive-aggressive and give off the vibe that they don't have time to sit around and shoot the breeze. I wouldn't call LA "friendly" by any means, but people there are friendlier than people in the Northeast.

Atlanta by far. LA is up there with Miami when it comes to unfriendliness

How is that worse than the "fake nice" stuff the south is known for?
Where people smile and talk behind your back?
Nothings worse than that.

Everybody is kind of an A-Hole in different ways in every region.

They are blunt on the East, "Fake Nice" in the south, Passive-Aggressive in the west, Seattle Freeze, Minnesota Nice, etc.

Just try to be courteous yourself and not project an attitude about how others act and you should be fine. Lots of projection a lot of the time.

I agree with this. The South has a lot of "nice-nasty" people too. I just felt that Atlanta was friendlier because I did make more friends there a lot quicker than I did in Los Angeles. I'm not saying that its "better" or "worse" at all - that's your opinion and what you're used to based on what part of the country you were raised in or spent a lot of time in

What others call "fake nice," I call common courtesy. It's all a matter of perception I suppose.
