What? I think Syracuse, New York is a gorgeous area that can compete with Atlanta in atleast three of those areas specified.

I think Syracuse is a great little city nestled in a lovely part of New York, but comparing it to Atlanta is to set it up for a major fail.
Better compare it to the following:

Knoxville, TN
Lexington, KY
Champaign-Urbana, IL
Springfield, MA

Yeah, if we used metros in the 60-100 range vs Syracuse(80th), then it would make sense.
