Your personal experience aside, Charlotte probably has more. Why? It's a bigger MSA. It's a bigger city. Lots of German companies. And bigger & metros cities usually get more expats - particularly if they are blue collar heavy.

I'm sure you're right. Charlotte is definitely not on the top of anyone's must visit list.

We're okay with that. Although next time you connect through Charlotte on your flight out of BNA, I suggest opening some time to explore.

Charlotte is still more diverse and is more advanced in its overall development as a city.

I'm not speaking from Downtown Nashville or the tourist districts, that's not where I spend a majority of my time when I visit the city, I'm in the true districts of the city (Antioch/Madison/etc.) and believe me the city is diverse,,, IMO the city itself is more diverse than the tourist districts which advertises Country music a lot but is changing and is opening up as well, the National museum of African American music will be a great addition to the tourist area and will be great to see.. The neighborhoods and districts are the true Nashville which most people don't see and is very diverse...

Charlotte may be a little bigger but not by leaps and bounds, they are still in the same bracket when it comes to city and metro...

To visit Id pick Nashville by far but to live it would be Charlotte. Nashville is just got too far to go as far as shopping, diversity, and it just feels way to small and just doesnt have a cosmopolitan vibe like Charlotte although Charlotte still lacks some of this too

Charlotte MSA is significantly bigger than Nashville MSA (I wouldn't say they're in different leagues though - something Idon't care about because both are at best, one of many mid-sized American cities.....) There's over a 500,000 population difference. Not that huge compared to the nations largest Metros like Atlanta or Dallas, etc. but we are talking about a metro that just hit 2M. Metro CLT is 25% larger (in more than 1/2 the land area).

A 2018 publication shows that MSA Charlotte has over 230,000 Foreign born immigrants. Up from 105,000 in the year 2000.

A 2017 publication shows MSA Nashville had 139,000 foreign born immigrants.

Nashville does not feel small at all and has definitely developed a cosmopolitan vibe, smh,, It is continually growing and crowded You couldn't have been in a while... Not to mention that city is changing by the day, every 2 months I would say I'm in Nashville and something new pops up every time, I'm not going to even speak for the DT area, its just unbelievable... I'm starting to wonder from some post if some have been to Nashville at all, especially within the last 10 years.. I thinks some are basing their theory on assumptions and out dated thoughts and or stereotypes

It is interesting how much of the comments expose ignorance of Nashville's diversity as a whole.

Wow.
I was just there 3 months ago.lol
Ive been a few times actually.Maybe if you are from Birmingham but to me its feels small in comparison to many other cities and even Charlotte which is not a big city but it has more big city amenities than Nashville.
