"There is nothing inherently special about this forum, in that it is the same thing as all other internet forums: a collection of individuals debating relatively obscure issues with a passion disproportionate to its importance."

This quote describes this forum perfectly.

I'd say it fits Skyscraperpage more.

That's hilarious.

At any rate wasn't aware anyone still checked washed-azz Vice.

I dislike the dismissive tone of the article. City vs city is a fascinating topic with lots to learn.

I like CD specifically because of City vs. City. Other boards don't allow that, though it pervades everything in subtle ways anyway.

Growing up in the 90s and early 2000s, my family was able to go on roadtrips all over the country and I developed a love for travel, geography, and demography.

In my early adults years, due to work and family obligations, I haven't had the ability to travel as I would've liked to.

This forum has provided a great sense of fulfillment to me as I learn about new places and how they compare to other places.

There's never a shortage of interesting threads and knowledgable posters who have great insights to offer.

Really? Vice does stories on topics other media outlets aren't covering, and for that I appreciate their work, even if imperfect.

I actually had no problem with the snark. Snark is something city magazines engage in all the time.

And the author let it slip at the end that they found all this weirdly interesting too.
