I know this is an old thread but I think Chicago's Skyline is the best in America and the 2nd best in the world behind Hong Kong! Then the rest in no order.

Since when is Hong Kong in the USA? I think Miami has one of the most modern and tropical look to it in the Lower 48 states.

The poster you're replying to never made any mention of Hong Kong being located in the US. Before you attempt to criticize another member's post, perhaps you should learn how to read first. M'kay.

New york of course, Chicago is second... And when the freedom tower and it's buddies get built, it will become even better... (Sorry but the chicago spire will probably not be completed and either ways, I think it looks hideous and will not be a good addition to Chicago's nice skyline...)

After seeing so many of these, NYC wins yet again... Are chicagoans sore losers, or do they just love losing? Will they create another one? Stay tuned...

I voted Chicago, and believe it whole heartedly. I can see why some people would vote NYC though.

Apparently the experts seem to be rather split over which is the best skyline in the country, so don't make bold statements like Chicagoans being sore losers. You have to have clearly lost before you can be a sore loser.

The skyline of NYC is easily the most famous in America, but Chicago also has an incredible skyline.
Having been to both cities on numerous occasions, I'd have to go with NYC.
Other notable skylines include ...
1.) Dallas
2.) Los Angeles.
3.) Atlanta
4.) Denver
5.) Houston
6.) Charlotte
7.) Minneapolis
8.) Cleveland
9.) Kansas City
10.) Seattle

New York City has the best skyline in the U.S., followed by Chicago, then Miami.

New York's skyline works better than any other and it's skyscrapers are more spectacular.

Here's my little grouping. Really tough to judge between #5-12 imo.

1)NYC (another level)
2)Chicago (height, impressively spread out, dense)

3)San Francisco (pyramid, bridges, bay, hills, dense)
4)Seattle (needle, bay, mountain backdrop)

5)Pittsburgh (bridges, river, nice cluster)
6)Philadelphia (height, dense)
7)Los Angeles (height, mountain backdrop)
8)Miami (impressively spread out)
9)Las Vegas (cool lights, mountain backdrop)
10)Boston (bay, decent cluster)
11)Houston (height)
12)Dallas (cool lights)

13)Atlanta/Charlotte/Denver/Phoenix (pretty decent)
