Seriously, anyone who picks Miami isn't doing so based on personal preference, they're doing so because of ignorance or because they think south beach is in miami when in fact its in miami beach.

Yes, East LA is just as dirty as the city of Miami, but West LA is what overtakes Miami! I don't feel like explaining right now.
Dude. Every hear of something called a metro area? Part of what makes LA great is not just the city of Los Angeles and part of what makes Miami great is not just the city of Miami. I'm also glad you think that people who prefer Miami to LA (excuse me Miami-Dade to LA County) are ignorant because they don't share your view. Seriously, as they might say in LA "chill out, duuuuude".

But when you add the nearby wilshire corridor and nearby century city, LA is bigger. Its just not centered, and Miami had a modern high rise condominium boom so downtown Miami looks cleaner and more tropical

i picked miami because i like miami better. how can we be asked a question and then tell us its out of ignorance to pick whats not your choice. and anyone that knows miami knows your little south beach trick there, obviously your from SD and you would like it there more. So either read or not say anything.

geez people its a question, and opinions not facts.

This is a joke, right?

Miami has just as good/better areas than West LA. Malibu isn't Los Angeles but it's lumped in Los Angeles at times.

I'm not saying Miami is better (or that I even like Miami) but you're not making any sense.

uhhhhh, angel, the poll is talking about the cities, sorry that you and certain people feel the need to justify areas based on something the poll isn't asking for, but if you want to compare metro areas, then LA is even "more" better then comparing the cities themselves. Have you ever been to Orange County? Its amazing! Way better than Ft. Lauderdale just as LA is better then Miami, not based on my preference, but based on the fact that the weather in LA metro I'd better, the job market, nightlife, food, shopping experience, and overall vibe, yes, even public transportation.
