umm wow, so because some South Carolinians have a health problem that makes the state inferior to Jersey? That's pretty low, even for a forum like this. I suppose you're trying to be funny here but do you know why SC has way more strokes than NJ? On the surface it's the unhealthy Southern-style food but demographics is the important issue. Stroke affects black people twice as much as whites. SC has almost 1/3 of its population as black compared to around 15% in NJ.......

Diners? Wow, amazing. Don't get me wrong-the culinary options in SC are very limited compared to large cities but an overabundance of diners is probably the last thing I can think of importing here to SC.

See, one can have a point about our dreadful public schools or our lack of public trans but someone moving here can choose to avoid the things that can increase the risk of stroke.

Also, do most people in Central NJ use public transportation? The places with great public trans in New Jersey owe it to being so close to NYC and Philly.

As many offensive or stereotypical points you can and will make about SC- it doesn't change the fact that many more Americans emigrate from your state than immigrate to it. This thread is ridiculous in that one state is not objectively better than the other. They both have their advantages and disadvantages but they are too different for a proper City-Data vs. thread. Maybe when you are done with your hallelujahs you can learn from her post. She brought up legitimite points instead of mere trash-talk.

It might be low but it is true. The people in SC have major obesity issues and health problems. It is a fact!

Yes, most people in central jersey use public transit. Their jobs are in Philly or NYC. They drive their car to the transit station and then take it into one of the cities. Also, same goes for the people in central jersey when they want to spend a night in AC. There is no need for a car because transit will take you right into the casinos

NJ POP = 8,682,661
SC POP = 4,479,800

Not to mention that NJ is 1/4 the size land wise but still has almost double the population. If SC was so great then there population would be higher.

Using that logic, you're saying that places like India and China are the best places in the world because of them both having over a billion people.

Nonsense.

Exactly. New Jersey has the highest population density in the country. Some of these people make it sound like that's a good thing. Not everyone wants to live in the most densely populated state. One of the benefits of South Carolina is more scenery and open land.

Logic is not a northern strong point. Now stereotypes and arrogance...that's the way to go.

I have noted the Southern proclivity to backstab during my time down there as well. The thing with us Jersey folk, we might seem rude and unwelcoming up front, but you usually form a lifelong and unbreakable friendship once you get to know someone well up here .

I am not talking about other countries. In the U.S. people move to a state because the positives outweight the negatives.

Again........

NJ POP = 8,682,661
SC POP = 4,479,800

So, NJ has 4.2 million people more than SC (almost double). Not to mention that NJ is 1/4 the size land wise but still has almost double the population.

So my question........ if SC is such a great place to live then dont you think more people would would pack up and move to SC?

The population does not reflect how great you are making it out to be!!!

If you consider trailer parks as scenery then SC is the place to be.

NJ has tons of scenery and open land. If you had ever toured the whole state then you would know that.

Logic is not a northern strong point?

Do you care to explain why the worst public schools in the entire country are in the south?

I would love to hear you explain this one
