My Top 10 of only cities I have been to for an extended period of time.
1.Houston- Live herte and half my life has been spent here so bias.
2.Dallas- Next to H-Town.

5. New Orleans- Food
6. San Antonio- Awesome place to visit
7. Miami-The beach, and some of it's exurbs are amazing
8. College Station- A nice city overall
9. Corpus Christi
10. Tampa/Orlando- Interchangeable but soon to be one anyway.
I would have put Atlanta there but beside the Airport and visitng a few areas, I cant really say I have really experienced Atlanta. This is also why most of my cities are in Texas, not being a homer just haven't been to many places besides Louisiana, Florida and Texas in the sunbelt.
Winston-Salem is one city that has retained a lot of "NC charm" as opposed to Raleigh which has lost some NC/southern flavor over the years (now more so bland "General American" suburbia, hate to say).
LA- Mac Daddy of the region, the template that has spurred other cities to grow in similar patterns. Diverse, gritty fun and on the beach.
Phoenix-Anchor of the Southwest which is my favorite region, excellent scenery in short distances. Efficient planning and large spaces of natural desert preserve as well as mountain ranges in city limits. Diverse, beautiful and booming
Tucson- Drop dead gorgeous grit, I lived there for 6 years, nice laid back atmosphere, great university, civic pride, fun downtown and the Sonoran Dog of which I am an addict of. Great historical preservation in El Presidio and near downtown.
Albuquerque- Tucson but weirder and better planned gorgeous desert and pueblos great food and ideal climate imo
Austin- Maybe slightly overrated but fun walkable college megapolis cool brewery scene
San Antonio- fun place cool architecture great food and the river walk
New Orleans- you know why
Memphis- such soul, so alive and unique
Atlanta- Largest airport in the U.S., international presence and very high end attractions
Miami- I simply loved the atmosphere and culture, the hub of the U.S. to Latin America
1. San Diego

3. Ft Lauderdale/Miami
4. Austin
5. Dallas
6. Atlanta
7. LA
8. SF
9. Houston
10. Orlando
