I don't think that NYC is an easy target for ridicule. You are just saying that because you are being defensive about it.
I disagree. You can easily ridicule NYC, people have said things such as the city stinks, it's trashy, people live on top of each other and New Yorkers are rude. Just to name a few.

And NY'ers voices sound like they have nasal congestion 24/7 with that accent. We rip on NYC all the time down here. It is a VERY easy target

"Ripping on New York City", even if accurate, is a Pyrrhic sense of victory considering that demand is so high to live there all around the world that those stinky, trashy apartment stacked on top of each other can cost more to purchase than some people's entire blocks.
Envy and lack of knowledge can breed such feelings.
That's funny because most of us down here think you guys are jealous that you have live on top of each other like rats smelling your unwashed neighbors and stressed out constantly while down here we have our own space and are laid back enjoying life

Where's that view from, the 20's or the 80's?
I think that says more about "most of us down here" than anyone else.

But it doesn't say anything about "them up there"? I guess it is ok for Northeasterners to say it but not Southerners. That view if from "now", not the past, by the way
