Tulsa's weather is kind of interesting. Sometimes humid, sometimes dry. Tulsa averages 42 inches of rain a year. Whereas OKC, which is only an hour and a half away only averages 35 inches. Those 7 inches of rain throughout the year make a big difference. Tulsa has more trees and is usually much greener than OKC. However it's not immune to drought, this year has been kinda rough. Tulsa's topography is a better match for charlotte than OKC. However OKC has more ammenities and a better economy. All 3 cities really have some positives as the pics have shown.

I would say Charlotte's climate has Tulsa's beat. Tulsa and Charlotte both receive about the same amount of rainfall per year, but in Charlotte it is concentrated in the summer, keeping things green and cooling the temperatures. In Eastern Oklahoma its not uncommon to go the entire months of July and August without significant rainfall and temperatures can soar well into the 110s. The grass turns brown and crunchy and the trees wilt. Charlotte also has the advantage of being close the the beaches and the mountains.

As far as the cities, Tulsa is a very small metro of less than 1 million people. I would compare it with Little Rock, Knoxville, Columbia SC, etc. Oklahoma City and Charlotte are much more similar though Charlotte is still about a decade ahead of OKC. I do think the general vibe/culture/attitude in Charlotte is quite similar to what I remember in OKC when I lived there.

To be fair, Tulsa is basically on the cusp of 1 million (937,478 to be exact). But I would be more apt to compare it with the cities you listed rather than Charlotte.

Tulsa to had a ton of transplants from the northeast during the great oil boom of the 20th century , however they all left when the boom went bust.Tulsa is like Charlotte NC in the way of it's being a city that's punches well above it's weight to put in in prize fighter sort of way and lingo.....

Tulsa CSA is really at a Million , and Tulsa MSA isn't because 25% of the Metro working force does not commute into Tulsa Proper to work , however they do "shop and find their's big name entertainment in Tulsa Proper"

Tulsa better than charlotte? Tulsa is a fine town but cmon what are you guys smoking thinking its even in charlottes leauge?
More than twice as many people, growing at a much faster rate, democratic national convention site for next year, annual ciia tournament, more diverse, better outdoor activities, Nfl team, nascar holy land, skyscrapers, tons of trees maybe the greenest city in america, light rail, banking capital, 3 hours from the beach, less than 2 from the mountains, better weather, the list just goes on and on.
