Lived in both. Like SC MUCH better. When you look at cities like Greenville, Columbia, Charleston, North Augusta, nobody in Alabama does parks and riverwalks like in those places. Even the SC coastal area is superior when you compare Mobile and Gulf Shores, AL to Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head Island, SC. SC is simply a prettier state with prettier cities and prettier parks and a prettier coast.

Both great states, with their unique charms.
I prefer Alabama, because I grew up here and am still here. But I've visited SC many times, and have relatives and friends who live there.

South Kakalaki! Charleston is an absolutely gorgeous city. Columbia.....not so much. Downtown Greenville is beautiful for a small city. I'll hopefully be heading down to Hilton Head Island at some point this fall to visit my old roommate. I will also definitely be going back to Clemson for a game this fall!

While I agree with you about Charleston and Greenville, Columbia does have a certain charm of its own, but you just have to know where to look for it; plus the city has been investing more in its overall look lately. Check out the pictures in this thread. For one, the SC Statehouse grounds are some of the prettiest of any Statehouse grounds in the nation:

I like both states, but SC wins here.

South Carolina for me, its more fitting to me and its in close proximity to a lot of places .

I don't have a problem with living in Alabama though.
