Partially due to the other edges of the core counties sides with the rural areas. The rural/urban divide is a big issue in state and national politics and explains a large number of differences.

Apparently what you know about the gay communities in either city could fill a thimble. Ever been on Chicago's N. Halsted? Atlanta's 10th St.? Both as gay as a pink hairnet.

Bankhead cant really compare to Englewood my dude, Bankhead isnt even the worst neighborhood on the westside, its just the most well known. But I feel what u saying though. The gay community here is pretty much found in about 3-4 specific areas.

Most of the ATL rappers come from bankhead, so that was the 1st hood to come to mind, but englewood is pretty bad.Yea Chicago does have gays,Boystown< lol, acouple of years ago there was no such thing! But yea, i would like to see someone post of video of a homosexual couple asking for directions in englewood and post it up on YT.

Why would anyone have a video of people asking for directions? That would be a little boring...

Just for clarification, ATL musicians come from all over the city - certainly not just Bankhead. Your information on Atlanta seems awfully limited.

The A has the third highest concentration of homo/bisexual people in the nation behind San Francisco and slightly behind Seattle.

12.8% of the city's population recognize themselves as being gay, lesbian, or bisexual.
