Well I guess there is a big difference between your perception of those cities and reality

"Reality" is what one's personal preferences are. That's all that counts.

Well I have to say that with a lot of younger people they mostly want those new cities with the young vibe and great downtown or Uptown activities like Charlotte's brand new Epicentre with plenty of watering holes bowling alleys new hotel and residential towers and with the convince of being right in the uptown area so if you just want a few drinks, hit up the bowling alley and then go see a NBA Bobcats game or NFL Carolina Panthers or so NASCAR a few miles up the road or a little simpler so see what just came out in theaters. So sure cities that are shiny, brand-new, and "On the rise" will be accepted and most talked about by the majority (The younger group). So many cities are like this in the south Raleigh, Charlotte, Atlanta, Miami and a few others.

I am not sure if KC has any centers like that in their downtown or not but it also has to do with the media the city gets ATL has some broadcasting stations and many cities in NC get attention due to music, sports and financial statues. I am again not sure what KC has to offer in the media attention category.

But these are simple yet crucial things that can bring attention to the city.

here are a few pics of the Eoicentre

Entrance to the theaters

And this is a 3D rendering of the whole complex it's self completed!

The P&L District in Downtown KCMO is probably one of the largest nightclub districts in the Midwest, if not the country. KC LIVE! is a self contained block of bars and night clubs that has concerts etc under the big roof.

But KCMO also has several other more established entertainment districts, all of which do appeal to younger people as well such as the Plaza, Westport, W39th and Crossroads.

Here are some photos of the Plaza

KCMO. Those pics are very nice! I had not visited the entertainment district since the last time I was there in KC was 2002.
