52nd and 53rd homicides in Tulsa, Oklahoma last night. Two 18 y/o kids shot in the head.. in the middle of the street.
So for Tulsa, OK (the biggest metro under 1 million people in the 2000 census) through November 7 the number is 53.
The metro number is much higher, that is only the city/TPD investigated number.
Also what is Chicago murder count right now compared to last year?
378 through October. Down 9 from last year, or a little over 2%. Our lowest YTD amount since they started keeping solid records about 50 years ago. It's been extremely stable the past 6 years though, so that "lowest" ranking is just a bit below the past few years.
i really don't know why NYC is has had a up stick in crime compared to 2009.
The NYPD got caught playing with the numbers by the media a few times to many, which is something the NYPD has been doing since the mid nineties and you can thank that scam called compstat for that.
and all cites, especially the larger ones, play with the numbers not just NY.
