Wow. You could land a 737 on Kathy Adams' collar.

OK, Lisa, now you have to find one of those commercials that Brian Sipe did for Richman Brothers in the early 80s.

There used to be kiddie rides at the front of the Value City store on Shore Center Drive in Euclid, Ohio. There was a little helicopter and a mini ferris wheel up against the wall for little children to ride. This was around the mid to late 60s.

I almost forgot about Kathy Adams. She was a respectable newscaster. No giggling or acting silly.

Anyone remember Marge Banks from TV5? Her position at WEWS was stated as 'troubleshooter'. She was another no-nonsense person. Haven't seen anything about her on the web after her work at WEWS.

There was a Best department store at the east end of Shoregate shopping center in Willowick, OH. Not sure if that was the same type of store as the one in Cleveland Hts.

There used to be a York Steak House in Euclid Square Mall. They were pretty good.

The demise of Euclid Square is depressing.

Wrestling on Channel WUAB 43 and WKBF 61 in the 1970s.

One show was called 'Big Time Wrestling'. The other was called 'All-Star Wrestling'. The theme song of one of the shows was a few bars from the song 'Classical Gas' by Mason Williams.

One of the more memorable wrestlers seen on the Cleveland shows was Pampero Firpo, a native of Argentina. He looked like something out of the jungle with his long black hair and short dumpy stature. He used to make threats about who he'd beat up and grumble 'Ohhh yeahhhh'. And the crowd would echo back to him, "Ohhhh yeahhh'. He was famous for his trademark death grip with his hand over someone's face, known as the 'El Garfio' face claw, that would render the opponent unconscious.

Other wrestlers seen on the Cleveland TV shows included Johnny Powers, Eric the Red, Andre the Giant, and The Sheik.

The wrestlers would rant before the match on how great they were going to pulverize the opponent. One wrestler once said, 'When I get through with him, he'll be looking at Cleveland and smelling Toledo."

Here's a video of Firpo:
