Default interested in moving to greenville area...

My husband has been saying for long time that he wants to move to North Carolina. I thought he was crazy to want to leave Massachusetts, but now we have kids and are living in a tiny apt for $1100 a month! North Carolina seems to be THE place to move and bring up children. All the homes in our area are $350K and WAY UP!! I have been doing some research and it looks like Greenville is pretty nice. I have 2 boys 4 and 5 - how are the schools? My husband is an auto mechanic and is worried about finding a job. Any great apartment communities??? HELP!!??

I would suggest googling Greenville NC property management. You should be able to rent a decent townhouse for around $800/month - most likely 3 bedroom. I used to live in Dudley's Grant and they are selling for around $100,000 for 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath and 1450 SF.

Don't know a lot about the schools, but I hear Rose High is pretty good.

Just moved here in Dec. I am currently living in the Greenville area. Crime has been very rampant as of late. Cant say for sure if it is just a fluke or common

I went to East Carolina University in Greenville. It's mainly a college town and about an hour and a half from Raleigh which is probably the closet city. I don't know if I would want to live there but college was fun. I recently heard to that crime was becoming a bigger problem.

Crime has been bad lately. Not sure why, but this area has always had a fair amount of crime. But lately it has been really bad - i've lived here for over 6 years and this is the worst that i've seen it.
