Here is a long one, my family and I are searching for the "perfect" family community. We are considereing the coast of Wilmington, mostly Kure beach. About us, we currently live just north of Charlotte in Mooresville, in a planned community. We have 2 kids, 5 and 7 and are currently in a great school (of excellence) We are looking for a more laid back simpler lifestyle. We only need to be near an airport, as my husband commutes out of state to work once a week. We want to be in a community type subdivision near (bicycle ride) the beach. We want kids playing outdoors and close nit friendships without too many vacationers. Crime and education are of the utmost importance. so my questions are how is education on the coast, how is traffic, is it dead off season or still community like, how is the traffice in to Wilmington, will I have to go to Wilmington for everyday needs (target) Is is retired people or family's , income levels, bugs, ect. Do you like or dislike living there. Thanks in advance.
I do believe everything you are looking for is right in the town of Cape Carteret, NC...Newer schools, small town of about 2000 people, nice public library, medical facilities, police and fire depts..., just a nice community...
