Hi there, I am looking to relocate from upstate NY to North Carolina. I have been trying to do interent searchs but find I am not getting enough "real" information. I am hoping someone can help me out. I want to be close to the water, that is what is drawing me here and the weather. I want to eventually open a restaurant so now probably work in one or manage until I get used to the area. My kids are older in college so schools dont concern me, I am looking for somewhere I can live everyday to its fullest but still make a living. Can you help me decide where to really look what town do you think I should consider? Thank you so much in advance

There are tons of restaurants in the beach towns. Their business peaks in the summer, but most are open all year. I live in Sneads Ferry (near Jacksonville and Topsail Beach). We have several seafood restaurants here, but it would be great to have a decent Chinese or Italian or Mexican palace. It is a growing area because we are near the Marine base.

Wilmington and Jacksonville have the standard chain restarants, but I also think they could support something more innovative. The cost of living is reasonable, as long as you don't live directly on the water.
