Hi all,
I have never posted on anything before so this is new to me in itself. Anyhow, I have grown up in florida since I was about 3. My family is in New Bern and always has been. You see my mother and father lost me and my siblings to a foster home here many years ago. But when I was 15 my dad brought me home to NC for a family reunion and I met some of my family and have tried to keep in touch over the years. So here is the thing will New Bern welcome back a forgotten daughter who is in extreme need of a fresh start? I have 3 small children and a 16 yr dd a 20 yr dd, only the 3 small ones will be coming with me. My son (5) is autistic with fragile x syndrome( don't ask too hard to explain) so he needs constant supervision. will he be accepted there? Will a single mom running from her x be accepted there? How is the job market ? How about daycare? How is the housing , what is an average price for a rental?
I m sure you are asking why don't I ask my family .Well if they don't know I am coming then they can't tell him I am when I do run. Kinda sneaky I know. But my Uncles and Aunts are along in years and really don't need to bothered by this. Plus I am not even sure I will be able to get there so why bother them with that. I just need soem basic info on New Bern or surrounding areas. Any help would be appreciated.

Default New Bern Relocation

Hi! Wow! You are dealing with a lot of decisions. I grew up here. Maybe even know your family. It's a great place to live. Sounds like there is something for your son here too.

Good luck!

Martha
