Western Kentucky is the worst team in D-1A this year. They had improved a little last year, but it looks like this year they regressed back into the darkest corner of terribleness.

And in their final year of Div I-AA, they were .... NATIONAL CHAMPIONS.
Seriously, MOST programs who have moved up to Div-I have been less than successful.
They must have had a better team then, judging by how they were blown out by a middle-of-the-road D-1AA team yesterday.
Would YOU sign up to play for a school that has been 4-35 (Two wins against I-AA teams) in the last 3+ years that you have been a full member of Div I-A? That is a hard sell.
In the last three years where they were allowed to complete for the I-AA crown (there is a three year transitional period where WKU played mostly I-AA teams), they were perennial tournament team in one of the toughest I-AA conferences. Those programs draw a LOT of players who fall below the radar of the BCS conferences.
To get back to the Bottom 10, I think that the WAC deserves special mention. They tallied just two wins. Nevada had a squeaker over San Jose State and Fresno barely edged FCS North Dakota AT HOME. Hawaii was destroyed by powerhouse UNLV. NMSU dropped a winnable game to weak UTEP. La Tech blew a 20 point lead to Houston AT HOME. Not a good weekend.
BTW, Ole Miss comes to Fresno on October 1, and I have a feeling they may end up being the Bulldogs' BCS victim this season, which would probably land them in the Bottom 10 if they aren't already there by then.

Bad week for the WAC alright, Nevada didn't perform well at all vs SJSU, far too many turnovers, but as history suggest, September seems to be a terrible month, can only go up from here.
Agreed, FIU is terrible, so what does that make UNT this year?
Umm, what??? T.Y. Hilton is an early Heisman candidate and they're 3-0 after beating Louisville (on the road) and a tough UCF team this week that was getting pre-season AP votes. Speaking of AP votes, FIU actually picked some up this week for the first time ever.

Check the date when I posted that... They are normally terrible-- this year they aren't. But how was I supposed to know that after they only played 1 game (against North Texas)?
