Couldn't find a thread dedicated to the Buckeyes.

Defense has a lot of question marks going into 2013. I see them losing at least one, probably two (losses to either Wisconsin, Northwestern, Michigan and/or Purdue wouldn't surprise me), but winning the Big Ten Championship and playing in the Rose Bowl against whoever loses the Stanford/Oregon during the regular season.

IMO, the offense is going to be potent enough to overcome any defensive shortcomings. Urban says he's going to use his full playbook this season, instead of the limited playbook he used last season while players grew accustomed to his system.

The key to running the table will be to stay healthy. They're still short on scholarships, so they're not as deep as they were pre-sanctions. A few injuries to the wrong guys, especially at QB or RB, could make it tough to continue the streak.

I'm shocked this thread only has a couple of posts. Buckeye nation is far reaching. I'll add my 2 cents. I expect OSU to be very good this year. I'm not certain they're a national championship contender, but they'll definitely play in a BCS game and probably win it.

Meyer and his staff had two great recruiting classes in 2012 and 2013. Their 2014 class is definitely going to be in the Top 5. In case others don't know, Meyer and his staff have verbals from 3 of the fastest 5 players at The Opening in Oregon last July. I look for OSU to be one of the fastest teams in college ball in a few more years.

I am very concerned that 12-0 might not be good enough. The Bucks are going to have to play a bigger non conference game. Look at next year's schedule too.

Yeah! Ive visited this board for several years and was surprised there was no Ohio State thread yet. Thanks for starting it up OP...

I've felt that Braxton Miller has been over hyped for the last year. He's a great athlete, but not an elite passer. Ohio State's schedule was rather soft last year and is only tougher this year because CAl, NW, and scUM are away games, while scUM seems a bit improved as well. (There is a chance Guiton could very well had led them to a 12-0 record last year as well.)

Bottom line... Unless OSU goes 12-0 with several blowouts, AND scUM is ranked top 10-15 when they play, I think several 11-1 teams could get into the national championship game before OSU. it would help if they win the B1G by beating a different ranked team directly after beat scUM. However Im thinking they might have back to back Michigan-weeks this year

Just saw recruit Curtis Samuel this past Saturday against Lehman, in the Bronx:

4TD's (46 yard punt return, 36 yard swing pass reception, and back-to-back 50+ yard runs out of the wildcat). Erasmus 46, Lehman 0.

Dude is the real deal, y'all!

The loss of safety Christian Bryant to injury for the season should be concerning. The Buckeyes don't have much depth at safety or really anywhere on defense.

Our only hope now is Michigan State goes 11-1 and is ranked 15+ going against a 12-0 OSU team for the BigTen championship.. with that, maybe only FSU OR Oregon would need a loss, not necessarily both.

Sparty simply isn't that good. I think there are too many hurdles this season for the Buckeyes to make the NC game. Rose Bowl all the way.

I'm not sure most Buckeye fans want the NC game, at least not the ones who remember the last two NC game appearances. A Rose Bowl matchup with Stanford would be satisfying.
