I to am curious about WP, my wife wants to move there and go to Andrew Womack Ministries. I lived in Colorado Springs once for almost a year, I had the hardest time finding a job and when I did It paid 13 per hour, forty hours a week. I found that all the good jobs were still taken and the cost of living was so high nobody could afford to retire.
We ended up moving to Oklahoma, that was 4 years ago. I am 46 with a wife and a 17 year old, after leaving law enforcement after 12 years I got into the oil business, currently with Halliburton as an electronics Technician. I am not seeing any work like what I do near WP or even Manitou, No major businesses to speak of how is it people are surviving in these two locations? outside of being retired or owning a business?

Wow, what a difference a few years can make! Potheads from all over the nation came here to take advantage of the legalization of weed, and a fair share settled in Manitou. At least that's the impression I got winding my way through them on the city's sidewalks this summer.

No one knew then what we know now... But, that said, pot is not legal everywhere in CO. It isn't in the Springs, nor is it in the towns up through Woodland Park, so Manitou has become an oasis in the area by legalizing pot. There are only a few areas in CO where the city or county has legalized pot. You can Google which ones easily.

IMO, I don't see any more smokers in Manitou than normal. It has always attracted a somewhat eclectic type bunch of personalities. Some more eccentric than others.

I smell it a lot more than I ever used to, but you get used to it.

Somewhere between mildly skunky to a burning pile of leaves.

It's pungent and kind of like a skunk, not a fan of the smell

Huh, maybe sometimes when I've been thinking I smelled a skunk it was that instead - thanks!
