The smell of tungsten? How about the smell of beer, oil, grease and rubber? He goes by the name of Bullitt, for crying out loud! This is a car guy's space, and a great one at that. Keep it real, Bullitt.

True! Save the scented candles for the wifes bathroom (that she remodels yearly).

A little work in the garage the past few days. Getting ready to put her on the track a few times this summer.

New shocks, struts, brake pads, fuel filter, serpentine belt, etc. Rear is done, finishing work on the front tomorrow. The garage definitely smells of rubber, gas, brake cleaner...and popcorn. My wife came out and made some popcorn and watch the Cardinals. So of course, it was time to take a break.

My track car is a Porsche 944Turbo, ex-PCA club racing car under the previous owners. Got it back to street legal (kinda sorta anyway...minimalist muffler and turn signals), so I don't have to trailer it. Now used for DE events with PCA.

HPR is a beautiful track and the best in the region, and fast. Suggest you also try open track days at PPIR, just down the road. Also open track/test and tune at Pueblo...Pueblo is a step up technically from PPIR's road course, with more turns and elevation changes. Good transition to the next step: HPR. Pueblo is under new (private) management and is actively seeking club events (with much more reasonable pricing compared to recent years under city of Pueblo management). Also, recently resurfaced. They're also doing drag racing on Friday nights, starting in late May, if you're so inclined.

Sounds like you have quite the car there. Thanks for the info on the other tracks. I still haven't been to Pueblo or PPIR. I just can't find the time to get out much with work, volunteering and other things. I also do a lot of running and currently training for another marathon, so I end up not having much free time. If I did, I'd definitely be out on the tracks more.

That's about the best looking autocross layouts I've seen; even I couldn't get lost on it. The acceleration on your Mustang is impressive. When it comes to the turns: Late apex, late apex, late apex.

Going to Pueblo for DE this weekend. You should check out the Mustang club or others for track days or DE ("Drivers Ed"), or just go to open track days at PPIR, HPR and Pueblo. Over the course of a weekend, I'll have about 2.5 hours of seat time in 20 minute segments on a full blown race track.

Glad you were able to get your pony out and exercise her a bit.
