I have been having an immense amount of trouble getting my drivers license here. I was born in Texas and apparently my birth cert can't be used because it is a city-local copy. I was told that I needed a state county copy instead. The problem with that is that Vitalcheck only offers city-local copies. I have called vital check, and every dmv from springs to Denver,(state and county). Nobody seems to know what I should do, and when they do know, they still refuse to tell me how to obtain a state-county copy. They will not provide any details whatsoever. If I can't fix this, I won't be able to drive after my 30 days are up, without making a pilgrimage to Texas, which is too costly for me, as I am new resident here in Colorado living on a fairly tight budget. What do I do?

Can you contact the county where you were born there?

That was my solution as I have a city birth certificate as well and was told I needed a county birth certificate or a federal ID (i.e. passport).

Tell them you're an illegal alien, they'll pop you out a license immediately.

Try calling The Texas Department of Vital Services and see what they can tell you.
