let's see: austin or colorado springs? that's a no brainer. Coloradp springs all the way. I have lived in san antonio since 1981 and am ready for NM or CO. I am tired of no seasons, long, very long and very hot summers.

I moved here from San Antonio (native Texan originally from Dallas)...eight years ago. Same reason. Got tired of that heat and humidity!

Someone mentioned that the city is "bland and generic" with not a lot of character. I would have to agree with that statement. The city, itself, doesn't have a lot going on. Not much of a night life or cultural things to do. You pretty much have to go to Denver for those types of things. BUT, I moved here because I'm an outdoorsy type. Great hiking and mountain biking trails within minutes. Awesome for Geocaching!. Outstanding ski areas, snowmobiling and ATVing all within day trip distance. Not to mention the white water rafting and ghost town hunting. That's why I love it here!

Not to mention San Antonio. It's only an hour away and is home to Lackland AFB, Randolph AFB, Brooks AFB, and Ft Sam Houston. also, Austin was home to Bergstrom AFB for a long time. it closed back in the late 80s or early 90s.

txngrl29...

I would RUN as fast as you can from the Austin area. The traffic is a mess! It's a University town, and maybe it's just me, I hate crowds in that matter, and the overabundance of illegals coming into the area(s).
I would pick CoS over Austin hands down. Texas has some of the highest electrical rates, & it's pretty much hot here year around. And we have the hurricanes...LOL
(We can wear shorts and flip flops on Christmas Day...how festive is that?) LOL
There is so much to see and do in Colorado. I take every vacation I can to Colorado, and I always feel great after being in the high elevations.
Texas to me is just boring, and the only reason I continue to live here is because I work in Oil & Gas. (and the cost of living here is pretty cheap)
I'm native to the state of Texas...and just can't wait to get out of here for good.
I own some acreage in Pueblo West, so I am sorta partial to the state. LOL
Good luck....but IMHO...Colorado is the place to be.

Default austin or COS

I moved up here to the Springs from Austin and I don't miss it at all. Housing prices are sky high and the traffic is some of the worst I have ever seen. The nightlife is good but I was over and done with that a long time ago.

COS is great fro outdoor activities and since the traffic is reasonable her it doesn't take very long to get from one place to another.
