Can someone tell me if the sale tax rate in Pueblo West is the same as in Colorado Springs? Or is it closer to the 3.9% that you pay out in the Falcon area? I seem to be finding contradicting information online about it.

So here's my stupid question for the day then (I've only lived here off and on for about 2 yrs total now...military), but what area is considered pueblo county? We're buying a new house that I thought technically fell under Pueblo West, but our paperwork says Pueblo County on it, but I believe the city is just listed as Pueblo (but the house we're buying is on the FAR north side of what I thought was Pueblo West). Am I just making this more confusing than necessary for myself?

FWIW, Pueblo West...(which seriously, your questions should be posted on the general Colorado forum as Pueblo and it's area are not Colorado Springs and you are probably missing out a lot from those that don't come to the C Springs forum but are knowledgable about PW...)

Pueblo West is not an incorporated city. It's a district which is different under the rules of cities and such. You can find out more information here: Welcome to the Pueblo West Metropolitan District -- Homepage (http://www.pueblowestmetro.com/index.php - broken link)

Pueblo West - 3.9% ; Pueblo West, aka P-Dub IS Pueblo County.
Pueblo - 7.5%

I always thought Pueblo West extended north along Purcell all the way out to exit 108 or Brandon exit on I-25 on the west side of 25. Stark Weather is like the third to the last road before you get to I-25.

Any thing that's not in Pueblo city limits is Pueblo County, right, but not necessarily P-Dub. Colorado City and Rye and almost San Isabel are the south end of Pueblo County. The County or the Mesa starts after you cross over Salt Creek (over a bridge shortly east of where Northern meets Santa Fe) I think. The Pueblo city limit ends on southbound I-25 just after Pueblo Blvd where the speed limit sign turns to 75. Pueblo city limit stops on the west end while you're heading towards P Dub on Hwy 50 just after the rail road overpass but before Pueblo Blvd. Once you cross Pueblo Blvd, the speed limit changes from 55 to 65. Please take a note of it, people who like to drive 55 or less. There are two lanes. Slower traffic to the right please (oops, sorry, didn't mean to highjack the thread on that last point).

I don't know where the city limit ends on the north end of town. But the county line ends at about mm 116.

Thank you for clarifying that for me. In the time we've been stationed here I've noticed that most of the cities run into one another and there is very little in the way of definite dividing lines, far from what it's like where I'm from.

No problem. I kind of learn as I go along around here too. I have much to learn.

I take it that you're staying in the Springs now and building in P-Dub. I wish we could have our own sub forum for Pueblo one day, but in the mean time, you'll get more relevant hits on the Pueblo West questions maybe if you'd put them in Colorado subforum rather than Co Springs.

In any case, it happens a lot with these two cities being fairly close.

I may just try reposting my other question in the general forum then. Thank you!

We're not actually building in P.W. We're looking at existing new builds. We found a gorgeous new home that was a custom for another family, contingent upon them selling their home...well, you can guess what happened. The home and the work is exceptional w/out a doubt....but I know better when he wants to tell me it's going to cost nearly $65,000 for a basement when we're not asking for anything special...just wall off several areas and string a few cords, and a wet bar (which the plumbing is already in place for b/c the last buyers asked for it). So, until he decides to come down on his price some, we're not interested in buying, because obviously they aren't all that interested in selling. I'm sure there are quiet a few builders in the area who would gladly work with someone who is ready to buy w/out the worry of selling a current home.
