Hello,

I went through the bartending academy last year, didn't look for a job right away because my hubby and I own a portrait studio and we were busy at the time.

Now that the economy has gotten the worst of the photo business I need something to supplement. I went back to the academy because I was told that they had lifetime 'refresher courses' (which, btw, means you can go in and practice anytime you want, but can't re-take the course). I re-took my practical and have been calling each week for job placement, haven't gotten a single call back. I did one private party Halloween night, but really need something more.

Does anyone out there know of any bartending jobs? I don't really want to work in a night club - would prefer a restaruant or hotel or even better, a place that hires out bartenders for parties and events.

My daughter also went to a Bar Tending school but discovered that it was very difficult to find a job. Most reataurants and bars have a waiting list and many are hired based mostly due to personal relationships with the owner. Also, the turnover is slight, so people tend to stay in those jobs for quite awhile.

Bar Tending is a job that has a low barrier to entry and a fairly decent potential wage, so it makes sense that it is difficult to find an opportunity.

After all, it's much cheaper to just drink at home.

Cliff House..(in Manitou Springs)..... The Broadmoor..( Basically in Colorado Springs).. OR...the Rock Bottom Cafe..( In NE CO. Spgs.) ..
I would think that the ones that you could go to for " Bartender for hire" would be in the...Garden Of The Gods Area.
