I drive a RWD Lexus sports sedan and have the Blizzaks. Never had any problems driving around at all with them. As everyone else said, as long as you have good snow tires it doesn't matter what kind of car you drive. And yeah snow tires are much better than all season.

Yes snow tires are better than all arson for traction in snow, but far from necessary. I've driven in snow my whole life (29 now) and never needed a snow tire. I'm not disagreeing that they give better traction, I'm just saying they are not necessary unless you drive a Rwd car, or spend a lot of time in the mountains.

If you believe that, then I have something that EVERYONE needs to watch. It's not that snow tires give you better traction from a standstill, it's that they help you corner and brake much better than an all season tire. And I don't care what the drive axle is on your vehicle, you need ALL 4 snow tires, not just 2 on the drive axle.

Seemed pretty conclusive. I've got four winterforce tires on each of two vehicles.

Default Michelin X-Ice

I have Michelin X-Ice tires on all four wheels of our 2001 Toyota 4Runner Limited (4x4) and still have problems going up the hill to our house when we have about a foot of fresh snow on the ground. The tires slip on this stuff like crazy. I get up the hill using the "get a running start and floor it!" technique Even with Winter tires you probably should have some chains handy just in case.

I threw a set of Blizzaks on my Jeep Cherokee and that thing goes up, over and through everything I've thrown at it.

I drove it down to the Springs from Denver one time in a snow storm, and I was literally weaving (slowly) around all the little sedans and bigger SUVs and trucks stuck all over I-25.

My Grand Cherokee is a RWD. Mind ya, I bought it while living in TX for a REALLY good deal and there's no need for a 4WD there. Now that I'm in the Springs, what should I do with my Jeep?

With a rear wheel drive you can get by in the city, but some people will recommend that you put some extra weight in the back.
