Hi All,

We just accepted a position with the CSU Extension office in Sterling, Co.

Now the excitement really begins!

Where do we start? We need help finding a property manger or a house to rent. Online isn't a lot of help!

Also any information on elementary schools - personal opinions please!

We do plan on making a trip out to the area before the big push.

Yes, its a small town. I grew up on an island in alaska with half as many inhabitants. We are thrilled to be moving to a small area to raise our kids!

Thanks so much for reading this and information!

Sterling has three elementry schools but they are divided by grade level. This means that all the children in the same grade go to the same school.

If you are looking for places to rent, you can try the classified section of the local newspaper, the Sterling Journal-Advocate, or some of the local real estate agencies. Many of them have websites listing properties for sale or rent.

We are also looking to move to Sterling in the coming months, is there an information packet the chamber puts out? Also, anyone think a particular realistate agent is better than another?

I saw online that there is a sugar festival in Sterling, is the plant still in operation?

There is no longer a sugar factory in Sterling but there is one in Fort Morgan which is about 45 miles to the west. There are still plenty of sugar beets grown in the area which is the reason Sugar Beet Days are still celebrated.
You can recieve information packet about the area by contacting the Logan County Camber of Commerce at 970-522-5070 or the Visitor Information Center at 970-522-8962.
