Thinking Colorado, what are the pros and cons?

Cheyenne is the windiest city in the country, the closer to there you get the worse it will get.

North of Fort Collins the wind was bad enough to drive me crazy, I could not handle the countless nights of howling wind and waking up to shingles on the ground or trash cans blown over. There seemed to be months were the wind was blowing at least 25 mph all day and night.

The south end and center of Fort Collins, Windsor, Loveland, and Greeley all get some wind, but as I said the further south you get the better it is. For a 4 hour drive into Casper, I would probably look on the east side of I-25 along highway 85, there are many smaller towns and for the most part real estate is slightly cheaper on that side of the highway.
