From my understanding it ranges from $11 to $25 per foot depending on the type of pipe that has to be used. Some areas in the valley are too sandy and requires steel "core" to be used which costs more. The area around the town of Alamosa can hit water in under 30 feet in some cases. Can't have basements around here because the water table is so close to the ground.

The Blanca / Fort Garland area is a different story I wont go into right now, but know the valley varies greatly on water.

Can anyone give me an idea how deep good groundwater tables are south of Smith Reservoir in the San Luis Valley Ranches? I own 15 acres in Unit P and would like to sink a well there this summer for RVing. Any information would be greatly appreciated at ae8u@yahoo.com.

Do any of you have experience in sinking a well and the water table depth in the Rio Grande Ranchos development land?

Call a local well driller - they are usually glad to share information.
