I went on my Colorado trip on Saturday morning and just got back. I just drove to see everything I could see. I covered 2400 miles from then until now.
I went from SLC to grand junction. Then to delta. Then over mcclure pass to carbondale. Then through Aspen and over independence pass into Leadville. Spent the first night in Leadville.

Sunday I took highway 24 north to minturn and I 70. Then I took that through Vail, over Vail pass and then i took the high road over Loveland pass.

Then down to Georgetown and up over berthoud pass into granby. Tried to get into RMNP but it was reservation only so I turned around.

Then I went to kremmling. From there I went down highway 9 to silverthorne.

From there to Frisco, then down highway 9 over Hoosier pass to fairplay.

Then down the 285 to Buena vista.

Then up to cottonwood pass and back down to Buena vista.

Then down to poncha springs.

Then I took the 50 east to pueblo.

Then north to Colorado springs.

Pikes peak was closed or else I would've driven it.

I took highway 24 back west to buena vista.

Then I drove all the way down to Alamosa to stay for the night.

Monday I started driving west on 285 to south fork.

Then I split south on the 160 through pagosa springs all the way to Durango.

Then I went north on 550 through the san Juan's.

Then I took the 62 west and then back east into Telluride.

Then I went back and took 145 through naturita.

Then i took the 141 through gateway to whitewater.

Then i went east on I 70 to rifle.

Then I went north to Craig.

Then east to steamboat springs and spent the night there.

This morning I took the county road north from there that goes by steamboat reservoir and meets highway 70 Wyoming.

I took 70 Wyoming west to 789. I took that north to I 80. Then I took that west to green river and i took the loop around to mountain view so I could see the uinta mountains from the north.

Then I took I 80 the rest of the way home.

I am amazed at the mountain scenery in Colorado and I really dont think Utah even comes close to this type of scenery. Utahs deserts are what it has best. What do you guys think?

Congrats! It took me years to see all that. Agree on Utah vs. Colorado and mountains vs. deserts. I do love Utah as well.

Wow - just reading this made my back hurt. That's a lot of driving.

Did you get to hike any of the 14ers as you were planning to?

As a guy who never could stand being more than an hour from a coastline, I'm finding the mountain views an acceptable second.

Not big on deserts.

I love the red rock country of Utah, Torrey, Boulder... But nothing compares for me to the San Juans and Ridgway/Telluride area. What a grand trip!

For me the exact opposite, but totally get this feeling.

As a Colorado girl who could never stand being more than an hour from the mountains, I find the coastline (living there now) an acceptable second.

Though Utah's deserts appeal to me very much also especially early Spring and late Fall. You hit some beautiful spots in CO on your trip, for sure. Good for ya!
