Not really about gas mileage but the lights draw no current and are brighter in the daytime.

So drove up to Dallas Divide this morning and Last Dollar Road a whole 10 minutes away.

Last Dollar Road

San Juan Mountain Range

Who needs a Jeep! I did get some puzzling looks though...

Thanks for some more great pix, Jim....

Do you change to runners instead of tires in the winter?

V6 Auto. Where I lived when I bought it is ALL hills, I was so tired of shifting all the time in my old truck, got to be a real pain. Anyway I got this Mustang at a great price and have a Brenspeed 91 octane racing tune using an SCT X3 tuner, and Shaker forced air hood scoop with a C&L Cold Air Intake. The car seems to run well and I have no complaints. I get in it and go.

Trust me, it's no slushbox.

V6? C'mon Arky! Naw just kidding. At least the scoop is funtional unlike the one on my 4runner. Besides some public safety agencies are opting for high perf V6 engines in their cruisers. What does the Montrose Sheriff's office carry for side arms? Glock? Kimber? Sig? .40? .45acp?

Yup a V6, I didn't want to pay an extra $5,000 for 20 more horsepower. I get 31 mpg. I'm happy. Don't know what they carry down there.

Spent a great day and evening at my sisters in Delta (it was HOT!) with nieces, nephews and cousins and a nephew who came in from Kansas City. GREAT time! I bought the last of the Olathe Sweet sweet corn.

This is, without doubt, one of the hottest Septembers that I can remember. It has been a number of years since I can remember not turning on the furnace at least once in September--haven't even thought about it this September. With the exception of one small rain, it has also been brutally dry. This means that we will be going into winter with very low soil moisture, which will only aggrevate drought conditions if this is a low snow winter. People may crow about the "lovely" weather, but it comes with a pretty big cost in this arid region. We'll pay for it later.

If people don't think it's dry, stop by the Paonia Reservoir. Listening to the NWS radio today, it was record high, record high, record high...nearly every city. It wasn't just hot today in Delta, but there was no wind and the smoke from all the controlled burns was making it a bit uncomfortable outside. Made for a pretty sunset though. Personally, I'm looking forward to some cold fronts, clouds, rain and snow.

Same here in COLO SPGS, hot and dry, though today it was cool for the first time in weeks.
