By the way.. did "Swansea International Airport" ever get off the ground? I read some time ago that Lexington County was going to pour a bunch of money into that because of the increase in demand for air service down on that end of the County because of new development.
CAE better watch out.. I look forward flying to London from "SIA" or atleast to Sumter......
I hope not, this would kill Columbia Metropolitan Airport. Why not just make Columbia an international airport....."Welcome to the Central South Carolina International Airport".

yeah.. this was me trying to sarcastic.. Coladata corrected me.. it is Pelion. I have wondered why Lexington would put money into another airport unless General Aviation at CAE is overcrowded. It seems that having two airports.. even though this is waaaay smaller and not commercial just seems duplicative......I am not in the industry so I dont know what market dynamics warrant a second airport just a few miles from a commercial airport.. I know other communities have them but they have been there for decades and not necessarily "new" airports. I believe Pelion was private and so the net effect may just be a hub for crop dusters.. but the article appeared to allude to the fact that they were going after corporate jets/planes.. which is no different the the General Aviation at CAE
You mean Lexington County Airport @ Pelion, if so, then they have repaved the runway and added hagars there.
Hagar the Horrible?
