It's not clear to me whether he failed to file completely or if he just under-reported his income. Generally, state dept of revenue audits and investigations are more aggressive than the IRS. Incidentally, the two rarely talk so it is possible to hide income from one while reporting to the other.
Although most people have an expectation for attorneys, accountants, etc., to have above board ethics, there is overwhelming evidence to the contrary LOL!! I work in public accounting, people are shady no matter what they do for a living. Or what church they belong to.
He also seems to have been found guilty of DUI recently.
