A new proposal for the old trolley barn site at 1600 Oak Street near Franklin Park in OTE. This proposal would convert the barn and other buildings to a market with restaurants and retail, and a 4-story, 78-unit residential building would also be built on the site.
This proposal, like the Palace Theater renovation, needs Historic Tax Credits to move forward.

Nice to see the southern area of Olde Towne East getting some major development with Nation Wide Children Hospital building it's 50 million dollar office building. Hopefully, that will help spur the elephant in the room the old Buster Douglas lot in to development. East Main Street is slowly rebuilding it's self and is improving. You now see people walking their dog's and jogging on Main street, safety wise it also is improving

FYI to Columbus Underground. Please acknowledge that area as part of OTE in your future article's about the new NWCH building going in. As it would attract more development and more people wanting move and buy or rent close to Children's Hospital and down town. It is only like about a 5 minute walk across 18th street bridge to get to Children's Hospital's main campus from that area of OTE.

Actually, it's located well within the boundaries of the Franklin Park neighborhood east of Wilson Ave. That aside, hopefully this goes forward since this would be a game changer for the area. It's a shame that site has been sitting forlorn for so long.

Another 650 cars clogging up dozens of streets Downtown and in the Short North. Just what Cowlumbus needs.

"The convention center already is served by three parking garages to the north, west and south, plus a surface parking lot to the east with 4,000 parking spaces."

The garage is replacing part of that surface lot. I also was internally placing bets on how long before you posted about this. I even intentionally avoided posting about it to see if you would. Sure enough...

New renderings are out for the White Castle HQ redevelopment Downtown, and while there's been some improvement (must less surface parking), there's still a lot to be desired. However, it appears that only the 4-story HQ building will go under construction soon. Other office and residential elements will be in future phases, and will be debated on their merits on a more individual basis. Hopefully that process will end up with much better (and taller) projects in a more mixed-use setting.
