I tend to agree. I'm generally skeptical of all these school rankings for a variety of reasons...not the least of which is that schools can teach students to score well on "standardized" tests, while failing to really educate them with the knowledge base they'll need to compete later in life.

Worthington's schools have had a pretty stellar reputation for as long as I can remember.

yeh, but, ive lived in both scenerios...and i agree that it sucks that the kids have to be taught to pass a test...but...i'm purely talking from an investment perspective-to be located where people want to buy your home, should you need to sell. i'll put my kids in private school if need be.

People get school ratings confused with parents that actually take interest in their children's education. Test scores do not mean the teachers and administration are great, it's more of a reflection that the parents in that district care about the education the kids receive.

Default What specific concerns do you have?

We will be relocating to Ohio this summer. We thought were settled on moving to Worthington until I saw your post. What issues/concerns do you have with the schools? I am looking for diversity and high academic standards for my rising 4th and 7th graders.

Look forward to your response.

I am looking to move to the Worthington Area and I am so confused on where to begin to look for rentals right now because of the Annexation and borders set up by the city. It is very overwhelming and discouraging. I was told that Worthington had great schools with great opportunities. I have 2 children, 1 male junior and 1 female 7th grader. Do I focus on the immediate Worthington Area or do I try to figure out all of the different boundaries. Help!

School Boundaries - Worthington City Schools (http://www.worthington.k12.oh.us/boundaries.php - broken link)

Here is the information about the boundaries for worthington schools. I recommend going onto mapquest so you get a better idea of where these boundaries are located. I actually graduated from Thomas Worthington which is a great school. If you have any questions about Worthington schools or the area let me know.

It's known throughout the state that Worthington schools are excellent, no matter what convoluted formulas the state uses for whatever political reasons.

Good advice by OSUGUY, the thing you need to keep in mind that the boundaries for school districts are very specific, and don't align with the cities themselves.
