Well I got my Sony Vaio fixed, which meant a new hardrive and the windows OS re-installed.
I downloaded skype, and wanted to use the video.
First I was told I needed flash, which I downloaded.
However, when I try to use the video I am told it cannot find the webcam.
Wanted to know why this is the case?
I thought when Windows OS was re-installed this would be part of it...as the PC came I believe with it pre-installed in VAIO.
How can I find it, or do I need to call Sony and make them (will they?) send me a CD to install?
If they reloaded Windows from a Sony system restore CD set, then the webcam drivers would be there. If they reloaded from a generic Windows CD, they may have not bothered to load all the drivers. Are there any unknown devices in Device Manager? Is there a webcam listed there? I think it's under imaging devices. Any drivers you need can be downloaded from Sony's web site but they're not always clearly labeled.
If you didn't make restore CDs than you may be SOL. If it had Win7 on it, then there is a chance you can order restore CD's from Sony. See if the following link helps:

K, Put your reading glasses on ".....than you may be SOL". Why do think the website link was included?
Sony is known to not include drivers for all the hardware on their website. If this is a win7 item then there is no issue. If if its a vista computer that has been loaded with win7, there are numerous computers with no driver availabilty for some components inside of their computers.

I have perfect vision. You shouldn't be so dramatic, it hurts your credibility
