If the pictures are backed up on the computer then I don't think it's a real issue.

If Disk Check doesn't correct the issue so that you can see the files, then I'd just format and move on. Formatting may fix the issue, or it may not, if not then you'll need a new SD card.

Either way you'll be able to move the pics from the PC back to the card to take them to be printed.

all the pics I have on my computer are still on the card. I don't delete them until I have printed them out.

So, I have a memory card, it works in my camera and it reads on other computers,
but not mine. Is there something I can do on my computer where I can have my computer read it so I can upload pictures onto facebook?

PLEASE HELP.

and if you could tell me step by step, I am not smart when it comes to these things.
Thank you! (:

In that case, I'd go to Walmart and buy a Targus or other USB card reader and plug that into a USB port on the computer. They cost $10 or $14 or something like that. Maybe even less, now. Windows should automatically know what it is and will find the driver for it.

Use a USB cord to connect the camera should work. You'd need the cord and the instruction manual that came w/ the camera. I never plug cameras in ,anymore. I don't know if you need to install software for win7 or winVista or not. You had to for winXP.

As for the cardreader in the PC itself, check to make sure that the cable for the cardreader is still plugged to the motherboard.

Newegg.com sells card readers that mount in drive bays. The hardware vendors like HP sell replacement card readers, probably. People dismantle and part out computers on ebay. But those options will cost more than my first suggestion and require more time, effort, and computer knowledge.

I didn't read all the responses (too many). But just in case nobody mentioned it, first format the card in camera, then take some photos and give it another try.

I doubt it's an issue anymore for the OP as they posted this a year ago, it was brought back by a newb hijacking the thread.

That's why I though the thread was familiar. I should have paid more attention.
