For the first time in nearly 10 years I am getting ready to jump ship - it is TERRIBLE

Two different computers, with three different browsers (two versions of IE and Firefox)

I can't attach files to emails anymore except for the computer with IE8 (work computer I have no control over that) and on the IE8 computer I can only attach ONE

Now, even though I don't check keep me signed it, it keeps me signed on on the yahoo page and I have to go there to sign out.

And it is ugly and flat.

What email services are out there that are really good for personal non corporate email?
I don't want one tied to my ISP because that can always change if you move.

Yahoo Mail is new and improved this week. The company's CEO is quite proud of it.

They used to give people a choice when they introduced new versions. Now we're stuck. I'm thinking about going to GMAIL full time.

You can thank Microsoft for that. Then all the lemmings in the tech industry copy them.

Just get a gmail account. Its not fancy looking but its functional. The main attraction is that its compatible with any browser, client software, or device you can think of. It can also forward to another account or act as pop client for other accounts.

I have my own domain name hosted by Gmail so that's what I mostly use. I've had the Yahoo account since 1999 and use it when registering software, registering for forums etc. Its basically my spam account but I do have a few actual people who email me there.

Same thing here....but I need to keep my yahoo account around. I have been hesitant to give out my gmail account because I don't want the spam there.

I'm going to start switching over and will continue to do so if they don't fix the yahoo.

I do have a gmail account but have been keeping it pretty clean because I don't want the spam but that is a good idea.

What I don't think is excusable with the new yahoo is that you can log into mail.yahoo.com now, NOT check the box (I never stay logged in), but when you exit you are still actually logged in to yahoo--if you are at a motel that is awful because people may not know they left themselves logged on. You have to go to the home page (house) and log out THERE.

It was one of my complaints with Windows 8---I prefer to log on, do my stuff, then log out. I wipe my cookies and browsing history every time I close my browser and don't store any passwords on my computer.

It seems to me that gmail gets hacked pretty regularly. As in every contact I have who has gmail has been hacked with various spam being sent out under their names.

Well, that is not good either - I have managed to not have my yahoo mail get hacked. What else is there?
