Can't use City-Data anymore on iPad---redirects! (CD, laptop, screen, how to)

I'm on my laptop right now, but for the past few weeks I haven't been able to access City-Data on my iPad because it redirected me to a site entitled "Business Locator for iPhone." City-Data is the only site I'm having this problem with.

I googled last night to figure out how to fix this, and now I can get to the site as a guest. But when I try to log in using my name and password, that's when it now takes me to "Business Locator for iPhone." Not much better than before!

Any ideas???

So when you are on your ipad, you put in the URL city-data.com and you get redirected to what URL?

Go to "Bookmarks," open "History," and erase all History. Now enter the URL address for this forum, and see what happens.

city-data defaults to a large font size I'd rather have a bit smaller on my tablet.

As long as you've been on CD you should know by now that it's bad form to hijack someone else's thread.

I've experienced the same thing a few times. All I do is close it out and click the link again in my favorites and it works properly.

After the redirect, it still shows city-data.com in the address bar, but the screen is something else (Business Locator for iPhone).

That did not change anything, unfortunately.

Are you sure it's taking you to that page, or is it just promoting the "Business Locator for iPad" app? At the bottom of the page, does it say something like "continue to the page"... ?

When I clear the history and cookies on my iPad, the first time I login to C-D, I get this promotion for the app. When I click on the "Continue to the page" link (or something similar to that) it takes me to C-D, and I'm good until the next time I clear history and cookies. HTH.

Yes, it does have a link to click for "Continue to the Page" but when I click it, the City-Data appears for only a fraction of a second, then I'm immediately back at the "Business Locator for iPad" app promotion page. I cannot stay on City-Data. I'm posting now only because I'm at home on my laptop. My iPad is what I generally have with me, so I would like to find a way to access City-Data from it.
