You really don't need a 3rd party app for resizing, especially with Win7+. Unless you're a GIANT nerd, of course.

I haven't used it since Vista, but with two monitors in Vista, and no Win + arrow keys it was really nice to have that same functionality.

With as many as 5 or 6 windows open at any given time (for the same task), having keyboard commands for snapping windows to fixed locations, on certain screens, was a really nice feature.

It was in 7, but improved in 10 to work with dual monitors. I use it DAILY.

I just got a 34 inch ultra wide and got rid of my 21 inch dual montiors. Its just difficult getting used to the wide screen. For now I'm just using my laptop as a second screen just incase I have to use screen sharing or something.

It comes down to PPI IMO.

I have a 40" 4K monitor. PPI is about 115.
a 21" at HD (1080) is about 105PPI. So there is more real estate on the 40". And the larger you go, the less dense it gets. Thus, a 40" 4K is going to have way more real estate than two 34" HD monitors.

Of course, the smaller the monitor with the same resolution, the higher the PPI. But the problem here is can you actually use it? I have a Google Slate that is almost 300 PPI (3000x2000) on a 12-inch screen. There is zero chance I'm using that in it's "native" resolution and be able to actually see anything without going blind.

I use one wide monitor at home because I don’t have the space to have two set up and had no problem using the functions in Windows 7 to split the screen. The snap annoys me because now it tries to make my screen to 4 at home and my monitor is not big enough for that. In the office, Windows 10 is nice though because I can split my two screens into 4.

Yea, it works fine in 7 but 7 isn't great when you have 2 monitors. Snaps doesn't work well.

So on your wide screen it tries to snap 4? That's crazy town! Never seen that b4.

I was given that choice when I started my current job. I opted for the ultra wide. Eventually, I realized that the big advantage is that I could still add a second monitor later.
