If I upgrade to windows 10 from my windows 7, is there a way to save my software?
When I say software, I mean mostly games.

I wrote and asked the folks at Hoyle and they said that I'd have to purchase the games again?

The games aren't for me (YEAH, RIGHT ), they are my better half's form of enjoyment.

Not any fancy type games .. just games like Hoyle board games.
(solitaire, cribbage etc. etc.)

Thanks

IMHO if you're on Win7, stay on Win7. Win10 is more for repairing the PR damage of Win8 than anything else.

When I did my Windows 10 upgrade it didn't remove any of my existing software. The upgrade does not reformat your hard drive so you should be ok.

You *may* find that a certain game *might* lock up or whatever.
It has been reported that some programmes do not like to run under WIN 10.

Upgrading, not a clean install, does not change what is already on your computer, including the games.
This also means that if you do *an upgrade*, and you may have some *nasty* stuff on your computer, you will still have it *after* you have win 10 running.

If you do have all the original software, then the best thing for Win 10 is a clean install.

But then you may loose all your *scores* !!
Is that what you are worried about ?

I just bought a new Toshiba laptop with windows 8, and they are upgrading to 10 as we speak.
Will there be a problem with that ?

Incorrectly?

Once the upgrade process starts, it runs all by itself w/o any intervention needed. A first for Microsoft.

*They*, Microsoft and many other *suggestors*, all mentioned to make a back up first.
Now why would anyone say something like that, unless you are absolutely sure that the upgrade will go flawless ...
Nuff sed.

This. The only program I had trouble with was AVG, and I simply need to reinstall it.
