I imagine Adobe's FAQ on their website would have that info.

Why not just open it with IrfanView, convert to GIMP compatible format, and use the GIMP? Do you need CMYK output?

IrfanView (IrfanView - Official Homepage - one of the most popular viewers worldwide) is free software for viewing and converting images--including .psd--but not for editing them. GIMP is free software for editing, but does not support CMYK. If you simply need to edit a CMYK .psd file you can open it using IrfanView, convert it to a format and color space that GIMP is compatible with, and then use GIMP to edit that file.

If you need the CMYK aspects of the original file (doubtful, if you're a commercial printer you'd probably have access to some more sophisticated software) there are workarounds available in GIMP as plugins, but you'd still need an RGB image to begin with. What exactly are you trying to do with this CMYK file? IrfanView's CMYK support isn't very good and conversion in general is challenging, so you may be better off just going the adobe route. It depends on how much effort you are willing to expand to save $100-$600
